French Quarter Festival is a 4-day long celebration of New Orleans food, music, and people held in the month of April. In 2018, it will run April 12-15.
The festival was first produced in 1984 as a way to bring residents back to the Quarter; following the World’s Fair and extensive sidewalk repairs in the French Quarter. It is also the largest, free music festival in the South!
Fun Fact: The festival employs only local companies and money spent stays within the local economy!
The festival hosts over 60 local restaurants for the signature event called the “World’s Largest Jazz Brunch” held in Woldenberg Riverfront Park. Food and beverage booths as well as other events such as free tours of homes, art shows, fireworks happen along the French Quarter.
New Orleans is filled with stages throughout the French Quarter with local music playing represent every genre from traditional and contemporary jazz to R&B, New Orleans funk, brass bands, folk, gospel, Latin, Zydeco, classical, cabaret, and international.
